Our Physicians
HPG is the largest privately owned hyperbaric organization in the East Coast. Our staff has combined over 100 years of experience in the medical, physical and mechanical effects of hyperbaric oxygen and wound care management. Our physicians have extensive training in wound care and hyperbaric medicine, many with dual certifications. in addition to lecturing to medical schools and residency programs, our physicians stay actively involved on a national level to increase the acceptance of hyperbaric medicine.
W. Scott Alexander

Since 1990, Dr. Alexander has been serving the medical community in the areas of emergency urgent care, hyperbaric medicine, and wound care. He has also taken advanced courses in managing respiratory diseases, as well as extensive training in hyperbaric medicine since 2004.

Daniel Beless |
|
Dr. Beless is the Medical Director at Cobb Hyperbaric Medicine at St. Joseph's. He served as Director of Crawford Long Emergency Department for over 13 years and was on the faculty of Emory University Department of Emergency Medicine. He has been practicing hyperbaric medicine full time since 1998 with Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia. He was formerly the Director of the Crawford Long Hospital Hyperbaric Medicine Unit. Dr. Beless is active in lecturing for the Emory University Medical School and residency programs on hyperbaric medicine and advanced wound care therapy.

Jann Blanton |

Dr. Blanton is the Medical Director at Dekalb Hyperbaric Medicine. She has practiced hyperbaric medicine since 1999, as well as emergency medicine. She is also a part time clinical instructor for Emory Emergency Medicine Department at Grady Memorial Hospital. As a personal interest, she is an avid recreational diver with advanced certification.

Fred Dozier |

Dr. Dozier is Medical Director at Hyperbaric Medicine at Emory Crawford Long. He has been practicing hyperbaric medicine with Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia since 2007. Dr. Dozier is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia. He is an avid runner and enjoys reading in his leasurely time.

Helen Gelly |

Dr. Gelly is the Medical Director of Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia. She has practiced hyperbaric medicine full time since 1993, and has lectured nationally on hyperbaric medicine and wound healing for many years. She is actively involved on the national level to increase the acceptance of hyperbaric medicine as a treatment modality. Locally, she continues to lecture to recreational diving groups, as well as to the medical school and residency programs at Emory University. Dr. Gelly was President of the Gulf Coast Chapter of the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society from 2005 through 2007.

Belinda Marcus |

Dr. Marcus has been serving in the emergency medical community since 2000. She has received several honors and awards demonstrating excellence in emergency medicine. She has been diligent in obtaining and furthering her knowledge in the areas of hyperbaric medicine, wound care management, ultrasound development, air care flight physician, HAZMAT/environmental response training, and advanced trauma and life support.

Sid Shah |

Dr. Shaw has been serving the community since 1984 in emergency medicine, hyperbaric medicine and wound care management. He was Chief Resident at Michigan State University and went on to become a Department Chair, Attending Physician and Associate Clinical Professor. Dr. Shaw has been featured in several publications over his impressive career and has also served on several committees ranging from emergency medicine to quality improvement.

Michael Violette |

Dr. Violette has been serving the medical community since 1987. After achieving the prestigious Quintessendse Award of Restorative Dentistry as a practicing dentist, he continued on to complete his Doctorates in 1996 at Emory University School of Medicine. The medical community has benefited from his hunger for excellence and continued knowledge in Emergency and Hyperbaric Medicine.

Marianne Taryla |

Dr. Taryla is Medical Director of Cobb Hyperbaric Medicine at Kennestone Hospital. After training in hyperbaric medicine she joined Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia in 2001. Dr. Taryla has a keen interest in wound care management and has taken a number of continuing medical education courses in this area. She continue to teach ACLS. |
